In a different post, the essentials of everyday grooming for men was discussed. Things like showering, washing/moisturizing your face. Here we are going to talk about hair & how to effectively take care of it. Everyone has different hair styles, textures, and preferences but there are essential basics when taking care of your precious hair.
The first thing when it comes to hair care is washing it. The frequency may be unique for each individual but ideally, one should wash their hair twice a week. A big thing when it comes to hygiene for men is what kind of hair products you use. You’d much rather hear this from me than to hear it from a someone you may have a crush on… STOP USING TWO-IN-ONE PRODUCTS. There’s legitimately no way your shampoo can serve as conditioner… or body wash, or a deodorizer. Simply getting a shampoo and conditioner will do your hair justice. I personally use Ogx at the moment.
There is a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) found in most off-the-shelf shampoos. SLS strips away your scalp’s natural oils – oils that help protect your hair. The result is hair that’s dry and brittle. Almost all two-in-ones have more SLS and other sulfates in them which contributes to the drying of your hair. Investing in shampoo and conditioners that have more natural oils & ingredients will go a long way in ensuring healthy hair.
